    Ancient China is a great choice for lovers of Chinese history, art and culture. Starting in Beijing with the Ming and Qing dynasties, then moving to the remnants of the Great Wall, the symbol of civilization and its indomitable spirit. To the Imperial Summer Palace with its magnificent frescos. Pass through the mystic to the Yungang Grottoes, where the great Buddha predominates in all spaces. Deepen the experience in the monastery of Pingyao. Then head off  to see the Terracotta Warriors that watch over the tomb of Emperor Qing. Finally to Luoyang’s museums, temples, and palaces which stand witness to more than 5,000 years imperial history of ancient China. 
    Arrive in Beijing, China’s capital city. Welcomed by your local guide at the airport, you will be escorted to your hotel for check-in.
    In the morning, marvel at the vast Tiananmen Square and see the neighboring halls and monuments. Walk through the Gate of Heavenly Peace to the magnificent Forbidden City, which was home to the Ming and Qing dynasties for over 500 years. Then, ride on a pedal-powered cab and tour through Beijing’s traditional courtyard neighborhoods where old traditions remain very much alive. You will have the opportunity to visit the home of a local resident. Afterwards, wander through Luilichang Cultural Street, once a flourishing cultural center during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) where scholars, painters, and calligraphers gathered to exchange ideas, compose poetry, write books, and paint pictures. Continue to Qianmen Dajie Pedestrian Street, lined with shops, teahouses, and restaurants. Tonight, you will be served one of the most popular dishes in China at the Beijing Duck Dinner Party.
    Travel to the northwest of Beijing to visit China’s most famous attraction – the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu. Built over 2,000 years ago, it stretches 4,000 miles across mountains and valleys in the northern part of China. Walk along a well-preserved section of this true wonder of the world and enjoy the panoramic views. Spend the afternoon at the former Imperial Summer Palace – the famous royal garden that was favored by the Empress Cixi in the late 19th century. Stroll through the “Long Corridor” to admire its painting gallery. Tonight, take advantage of your free time to explore Beijing’s bustling night food market.
    Continue exploring Beijing’s famous sights with an early morning tour to the Temple of Heaven, a complex of buildings representing the pinnacle of Ming and Qing architecture built in 1420, including the Hall of Prayer for good harvest, the Imperial Vault of Heaven and Circular Altar. The surrounding park areas are also alive with locals practicing tai chi, playing traditional musical instruments, enjoying a game of Chinese chess, or just chatting with friends. Afterwards, visit Beijing’s Planning Exhibition Museum, designed to introduce the long history of the immortal city of Beijing and displays the great achievements of the modern urban planning and development.     Board an early morning flight to Datong, the second largest city in Shanxi Province, located in a basin at an elevation of 3,410 feet and bordering Inner Mongolia to the north and west and Hebei to the east. Upon arrival, explore the Yungang Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the four most famous grottoes in China. The caves contain Buddhist sculptures from the fifth and sixth centuries and the site is composed of 252 grottoes with more than 51,000 Buddha statues and statuettes. The grottoes have great examples of different art forms, ranging from painting, music, carving and religious art. Continue to visit the city’s two awe-inspiring Buddhist temples, Huayansi and Shanhuasi, housing beautiful Buddhist statues and paintings from the twelfth century. Afterwards, take a close look at the Nine Dragon Screen, one of the three noted Nine Dragons Screens in China. The glazed tile screen was built in 1771 during the administration of Emperor Qianlong. 
    Travel overland south-west to Pingyao visiting the wooden Hanging Temple on the sacred Hengshan mountain en route. The Hanging Monastery, built precariously into the cliff side of the mountain and held up on stilts. The temple is notable not only for its location on a sheer precipice but also because it is the only existing temple with the combination of three Chinese traditional religions: Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. There is a '3 Religions Hall' with Buddha, Confucius and Laozi (founder of Daoism). Then, we will visit the Jinci temple complex, the most prominent temple complex in Shanxi, China. The best known structure at Jinci is the Hall of the Holy Mother, which was constructed from 1023 to 1032 during the Song dynasty. 
    DAY 07 - PINGYAO (B/L)
    After breakfast, visit the impressive Qiao's Family Courtyard, an 18th century courtyard estate comprising over 300 rooms and an ancestral temple. Located north-west of Pingyao, the site is most famous for its appearance in the film 'Raise the Red Lantern'. In the afternoon, explore the charming Pingyao Ancient Town, stroll through the Ming and Qing Street, visit the well preserved Ancient City Wall, and the Rishengchang Draft Bank which is known as the first Chinese-style private bank. 
    DAY 08 - PINGYAO/XI'AN (B/L)
    In the morning, Visit the Wang Family Courtyard, a luxurious residence built during 1762-1811 by the descendants of the Wang Family, covering a total area of 1,615 square feet, with 54 courtyards and over 1000 rooms. The architecture of the courtyard has a magnificent scale with five alleys, five forts, and five ancestral temples. The courtyard layout of the five ancient forts was compared to designs of five lucky animals of "dragon, phoenix, tortoise, kylin and tiger" respectively. The East Courtyard, informally named Gaojia Ya, a cluster of courtyards, each with its own kitchen yard and private school yard. In the middle sector are two main courtyards and Beiwei Yard. In front of the main yards is a long alleyway. To the northeast is a small side-yard while in the southwest there is a large side-yard. The West Courtyard is informally called Hongmen Bao. Hongmen Bao means Red Gate Castle, taking its name from the only red gate facing the main street. The castle is 345 feet wide and 590 feet long, presenting in the shape of a regular rectangle. The main street divides the whole courtyard into two main areas. Three alleys of west-east direction cross with the main street, thus presenting the Chinese character 'Wang'. The Painting and Calligraphy Hall displays hundreds of excellent works while Treasure Hall contains collections of furnishings, old coins, porcelains, rare stones and jade carvings.  In the afternoon, board an express train to Xi'an, home of one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world – the Terracotta Warriors. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in.
    Take a short drive east to one of the true wonders of ancient China, the Terracotta Warriors near Xi'an. Housed in numerous underground vaults, some 7,000 figures of warriors and their horses that were originally made more than 2,000 years ago are on display. You will also get a chance to witness the Circle Vision Documentary on the history of the site and view the bronze chariots and horses sculpture, the most precious centerpiece of the Terracotta Warriors Museum. Visit a number of different vaults before returning to the city to explore the colorful Muslim Quarter, and the Drum and Bell Towers.
    Day 10 XI'AN/LUOYANG (B/D)
    Visit the ancient city wall built in the Ming Dynasty, on the original foundations of the Tang Forbidden City Wall.  Then take the bullet train to Luoyang, one of the great ancient capitals of China. Visit the world cultural heritage site - Luoyang Longmen Grottoes, one of the three Buddhist art treasure houses, was chiseled from 494 A.D. by numerous ancient architects and craftsmen. 
    Visit Luoyang Museum of Ancient Tombs based on the Jing Mausoleum of Emperor Xuanwu of the Northern Wei Dynasty 1500 years ago , archaeologists moved over 20 typical tombs from different periods of Chinese history and rebuilt underground, including the new discovery of the gigantic dazzling mural paintings of the two wives of Emperor Ruizong of the Tang Dynasty dating back 1300 years (Closed on Monday). Then transfer to another World Cultural Heritage Site - Mt. Songshan, one of the five sacred mountains of China, visit the cradle of Chinese Kung Fu - Shaolin Temple and Pagoda Forest, and you will also see a breathtaking Kung Fu Demonstration.
    Take a bus to Kaifeng, ancient capital of 7 dynasties. Visit the Song Imperial Street and Dragon Pavilion (outside view only) - the site of the Forbidden City of the Song Dynasty, the Iron Pagoda built in 1049 has seen the rise and fall of the ancient capital; Qingming Riverside Park ---- the biggest Song Dynasty Theme Park in the world. Drum Tower and the surrounding historic streets. 
    Transfer to Zhengzhou, visit Henan Museum (Closed on Monday) to learn the splendid Chinese history, then transfer to airport for your flight departure.
